Privacy policy for the Court.LIVE and Court.COACH apps
Version 2026-10-30 · 30 October 2026
This policy covers the Court.LIVE and Court.COACH apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android, during the beta. The beta sign-up on this website has its own notice: Privacy notice for the beta sign-up.
Who we are
Court.LIVE and Court.COACH are run by Panache Consulting BV, Boskant 30, 3945 Tessenderlo-Ham, Belgium (enterprise number BE 0682.813.484). We decide why and how your data is used, so we are the controller. Questions about this policy or your data: beta@courtlive.app.
One account for both apps
You use one account in Court.LIVE and Court.COACH. Both apps keep their data in the same place, so this policy covers both. The parts that apply to one app only say so.
What we store, and why
Your account
- Sign-in: your email address and password, or your Google account (we then receive your name, email address and profile photo link from Google). Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see them.
- Playing as a guest: if you join a match without an account, the app creates an anonymous guest account. If you sign up later, your guest data moves to your new account.
- Why: to let you sign in and keep your matches, players and settings on all your devices. Legal basis: the contract with you (our terms of use).
Your profile
- First and last name, player handle, nationality, gender, dominant hand, favourite side, birth date, profile photo link, racket, ball and clothing brands, and the plan you chose in the app (the beta has no payments).
- Which of our apps you use, and when you last opened them.
- Who sees it: other members see your name, player handle, nationality and photo, so they can find and follow you. Everything else on your profile, such as your email address, birth date, gender, dominant hand, favourite side and brands, is visible only to you.
- Why: to show your player card, fill in match line-ups and personalise the app. Legal basis: the contract with you. Birth date, gender and brands are optional.
Players, teams and following (Court.LIVE)
- The players you add to your roster, including people who don't use the app: name, nationality, gender, dominant hand and sports. Only add someone with their permission.
- Requests to link a player to an account (by QR or code), your saved teams and the players you follow.
- Who sees it: players you add can be found by other members, so they can be linked to the right account. Your teams, follows and link requests are visible only to you and, for a link request, the other person.
Matches (Court.LIVE)
- The score, the format, the line-up names, start and end times, and, if you use advanced scoring, a log of each point with its shot or error type. If you use Flic clickers, the clicker IDs used in the match.
- Who sees it: you choose in Settings, under 'Who sees my matches': Followers only (the default) or Everyone. The setting also applies to matches you saved before. Players linked to a match can always see it, and your followers see your matches in their feed.
- Likes and comments on a match, with the name of who wrote them, are visible to everyone who can see the match.
- You can delete a match you created at any time.
Live matches on several devices (Court.LIVE)
- When you score a match with other phones or watches, we keep a live session: the line-up, which device scores for which player, whether each device is online, every point sent and the score. A short 6-digit join code links the devices.
- Each device gets a random ID when the app is installed. It is not an advertising ID and is reset when you reinstall the app.
- Who sees it: only the host and the people who joined that match.
- How long: the join code stops working when the match ends or after 24 hours. The session is deleted 30 days after the match ends; the result stays in your saved matches.
Drawings and coaching (Court.COACH)
- Your drawings and plays, your coaching players and teams, the drawings you liked or opened.
- Who sees it: private drawings are visible only to you. If you share a drawing with the community, members see it with your name, how often it was used and its likes.
Reports and blocks
- When you report a comment, a player or a community drawing: the reason you pick (spam, abuse or other), the reported content, and who reported whom. A reported comment or drawing is hidden for you at once.
- Who sees it: only our team. We don't tell the person you reported who reported them.
- Your block list is visible only to you, and you can undo a block in Settings. A blocked player doesn't see your matches and comments, and you don't see theirs.
- Why: to keep the apps safe and to act on abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a safe community, and the store rules we must follow.
- How long: a report is kept until it is handled and for 12 months after that; your block list as long as you have an account.
Problem reports
- When you send a problem report from the app: your description, the answers from the in-app help, the device model, operating system and app version, the language, and a screenshot if you add one.
- Who sees it: only you and our team.
- How long: the screenshot is deleted 12 months after the report; the report itself is kept as long as you have an account.
Crash reports
- If the app crashes or hits an error, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a crash report: what went wrong in the app, the device model, operating system and app version, and your account's random user ID (not your name or email address).
- Why: to find and fix bugs. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in an app that works.
- How long: 90 days.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no ad tracking and no advertising IDs.
- No analytics or tracking tools beyond crash reports.
- We never sell your data.
- The apps don't use your location. On Android 11 and older, the system asks for location permission to find Bluetooth clickers; we don't read or store your location.
Permissions on your phone
- Camera: only to scan a match QR code so you can join. Nothing is recorded or stored.
- Photos: only when you pick a screenshot for a problem report.
- Bluetooth: to connect your Flic 2 clickers. On Android a notification shows while clickers are connected.
- Speech: the score is spoken by your phone's own voice, on the device. The microphone is not used.
- Sharing: when you share a result, the image goes to the app you choose (WhatsApp, Instagram and so on); that app's own policy applies.
Who handles your data for us
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud stores your account, profile, matches, live sessions, drawings and reports, and sends crash reports. The main database (your account, profile, matches and drawings) and the live match database are in Belgium (europe-west1). Google acts on our instructions under its data processing terms.
- Google sign-in, if you choose it.
Some of Google's services may process data outside the EU. Google then uses the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep your data
As long as you have an account, unless a shorter period is given above. When you delete your account, we delete your account, profile, players, teams, follows, block list, drawings, likes, live sessions you hosted and problem reports. Matches you played with others keep the score, and you are shown as 'Deleted player', without your name, photo or profile link.
Deleting your account
In either app go to Settings, then Delete account. You can also ask us by email at beta@courtlive.app.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or limit how we use it. Write to beta@courtlive.app; we answer within a month. You can also complain to the Belgian data protection authority, the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données (www.dataprotectionauthority.be).
Children
The apps are for people aged 13 and older (the age of digital consent in Belgium). Younger children may use them only with a parent's or guardian's permission, and can appear by name in a match line-up that an adult keeps. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account without that permission, we delete it.
Changes
When this policy changes, it gets a new version number. We tell you about important changes in the app or by email before they apply.
